Fit to Pass to promote awareness for veteran suicide prevention along with honoring military service members and veterans
ATLANTA, GA, October 27, 2020 – Espyr’s Fit to Pass, a customized coaching program designed to improve the health of professional drivers and help them meet the physical requirements of the DOT re-certification exam, announces The 22×22 Challenge. The challenge involves pressing out 22 push-ups per day for 22 days (days do not need to be consecutive) during the month of November 2020 to raise awareness and promote prevention of veteran suicides. According to the Veteran’s Administration, an alarming 22 military veterans commit suicide every day.
Those interested in participating in the Challenge simply need to register at Fittopass.com/22X22. Anyone is eligible to enter and there is no cost or purchase required.
Once registered, participants are encouraged to help spread the word by placing photo or video challenges to their friends and colleagues on thetrucker.com/22x22challenge as well as their personal social media pages.
Names of those who register will be placed on the 22X22 Challenge Wall of Honor, a virtual wall located at fittopass.com/22X22challenge-wall-of-honor.
“The high rate of military veteran suicides is a national tragedy,” said Espyr CEO, Rick Taweel. We hope that this event will help make more people aware of veteran suicides and spur personal and organizational efforts to help prevent future suicides. Another way we’re helping to prevent suicides is through our partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We offer an Interactive Screening Program that provides a safe and confidential way for individuals to screen for stress, depression, and other mental health conditions, and receive a personal response from a program counselor.”
